Welcome to IDEAA MIS. IDEAA stands for Initiative for Development and Equity in African Agriculture, MIS stands for Agriculture Marketing Information System.

IDEAA MIS is a public/private sector partnership project guaranteed by the University of Malawi and funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. The project commenced from 1st September 2004. The overall goal of the project is to make markets work better for the resource poor farmers and lower the huge risks and transaction costs that hinder agriculture market development.

The project components include: the hub, Market Information Centres/Points (MICs/MIPs), electronic database and website, and harnessing of the private sector including cost recovery and transformation into Malawi Agriculture Commodity Exchange (MACE).
